Accommodation

Copenhagen offers a range of different hotels. Click here for hotel suggestions. All Summit participants are required to organize their own accommodation in Copenhagen and we cannot offer any special rates for Summit participants.

Make sure to book your hotel in advance since Copenhagen is a popular destination that attracts many visitors and business delegations, and since the Summit takes place during a Danish school holiday.

Visa

Before you travel to Denmark, you should check whether you need a visa. More information about visas for foreign nationals traveling to Denmark can be found here.

Getting around in Copenhagen

All summit participants are required to secure their own transportation to and from the summit venues on both summit days. However, on 19 October, bus transportation will be provided for all summit participants to and from the break out session venues.

From 1 October, there will be a P4G Copenhagen Summit App available, which will contain a map of Copenhagen highlighting all summit venues.

Copenhagen has a fully integrated ticket system for the metro, train, bus, and harbor ferry services. You can buy a ticket from vending machines, which are located at all metro stations, at the central station, and at the airport.

Metro

Copenhagen has two metro lines, M1 and M2, which run 24/7. There are 2-4 minutes between each train during rush hour and 3-6 minutes outside rush hour and during weekends. After midnight on weekdays, the metro runs every 20 minutes. Friday and saturday night after 1am, the metro runs at 7-15 minute intervals. The M2 line is the direct connection to the Copenhagen airport.

S-train

Copenhagen has a wide network of red city trains indicated by an S. Most lines run every 10 minutes. It is possible to bring your bike at no additional cost.

Buses

There are three different kinds of buses. The yellow and red A-buses run at all hours in the city and usually every 3-7 minutes during rush hour and at 10 minutes intervals outside rush hour.
The yellow and blue S-buses are express buses with limited stops and run every 5-10 minutes, however they do not operate at night. Instead, the yellow and grey N-buses are night buses. Look out for the grey color at the bus stop signs. Last year Copenhagen introduced a new CO2-neutral cityline, 5C, which is yellow and turquoise.

Biking

Copenhagen is the most cycle-friendly city in the world. The majority of cycle paths are physically separated from other road traffic, making it an enjoyable and fast way to get around. Wearing a helmet is not required by law. Bike rentals can be located through www.visitcopenhagen.com, but some hotels offer rental bikes as well.

Taxi

You  can find taxis at taxi stands all over the city. When you hail a taxi from the street, look out for the green FRI sign in the front window. When the sign is lit up it is available. To book a taxi from your hotel, please ask at the front desk.
